Best practices when updating Pega Robot Studio

Updated on February 1, 2023

When updating Pega Robot Studio, either the stand-alone or plug-in version, it is best to perform these steps before you update:

  1. Back up all of your solutions.
  2. Use Windows Control Panel to uninstall the earlier version of Robot Studio.
  3. Download the update from My Software. For more information, see Download Pega PRA Software.

The Setup wizard checks for required prerequisites and installs any needed software. For more information, see the following articles:

Review the release notes and installation instructions for your version of Robotic Automation Studio for additional information on the changes implemented in the release.

Note: Pega Robot Studio automatically updates your solutions when you open the solution in the new version. For solutions that use the UI Connector, however, there is an additional task when you update from version 8.0 to version 8.0 SP1 or to version 19.1. For more information, see updating UI Connector files in Robotic Automation.
