Enabling automatic language detection for text analysis

Configure the text analyzers used in Pega Email Bot to automatically detect the language of user emails. This feature ensures that the system supports multiple languages and improves the overall usability of the email bot.

Perform the following tasks:
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Channels and interfaces.

  2. In the Current channel interfaces section, click the icon for your existing Email channel.

  3. In the Email channel, click the Behavior tab.

  4. Select a method for opening a text analyzer rule:

    Choices Actions
    For the default text analyzer In the Text Analyzer section, click Open text analyzer rule.
    For an advanced text analyzer
    1. In the Text Analyzer section, select the Use advanced configuration check box.
    2. Click the Switch to edit mode icon next to the text analyzer that you want to edit.
    3. In the Text analyzer configuration window, click Open text analyzer rule.
  5. In the text analyzer rule, click the Advanced tab.

  6. In the Language settings section, click Automatically detect language.

  7. Optional:

    To enable a fallback language if a language cannot be automatically detected by the system, select the Enable fallback language if the language is undetected checkbox, and then in the Fallback language list, select the fallback language.

  8. Click Save.

  • Understanding text analysis

    Text analysis is an important aspect of conversational channels that enables a Pega Platform application to intelligently and seamlessly interact with a user in a natural conversational manner. Text analyzers examine user input one by one using natural language processing (NLP), adaptive analytics, and artificial intelligence.

  • Overriding the default language for an Email channel

    If you plan to support multiple languages in your application or one language other than English, you can override the default language of a new Email channel. Overriding the default language ensures that Pega Email Bot processes emails from users in the correct language, performs text analysis and provides automatic responses. By default, the system processes emails in English when you create an Email channel.

  • Configuring email analysis

    Improve automatic actions that the system performs on emails, by configuring Pega Email Bot that analyzes email content for topics, sentiment, language, and entities. You can also configure additional analysis for the email subject field and file attachments.
