Design tips for adding correspondence to flows
After you create correspondence rules, you can configure your flows to send automatic notification messages about assignments, to generate correspondence without input from operators, and to prompt operators to provide information about generating correspondence.
When you add correspondence to flows, remember the following about the flow editor and flow design:
- Activities are sorted by type. When configuring a notify shape, you can select only those activities that are identified notify activities (on their Security tabs). When configuring a utility shape, you can select only those activities that are identified as utility activities.
- SmartPrompts for flow shapes show you only those rules that apply to your work class — it does not show the ones you are inheriting from Work-. When using standard activities you have to type them in manually.
- Be sure to design your flows so that any files meant to be email attachments are already attached to the work object before the flow reaches the point at which correspondence is generated.
