Passing parameters to data pages from autopopulated properties

To pass parameters from any autogenerated property to its data page, complete the following task.

The following task applies to single page properties and page list properties. For more information, see Properties - Completing the Create, Save As, or Specialization form.

  1. Create a new property or open an existing property:

    Open an existing property
    1. In the navigation pane of Dev Studio, click Records.

    2. Expand the Data Model category, and then click Property.

    3. On the Instances of Property page, click a single page property or page list property from which you want to pass parameters to a data page.

  2. On the General tab of the property rule, in the Data access section, select one of the following options:

    • Refer to a data page
    • Copy data from a data page
  3. In the Data Page field, press the Down arrow key to select an existing data page, or click the rule opener to create a new data page.

    For a single page property, you must choose a page-structure data page.
  4. In the Parameters section, specify a value for each parameter or click the rule opener to create a property that, at run time, contains the value to assign to the parameter.

  5. Optional:

    To enable the system to retrieve each embedded page in the PageList separately, click Load each page in this page list individually.

    You must specify a data page with a page structure.
  6. In the Optional data mapping field, press the Down arrow key to select a data transform or click the rule opener to create a new data transform.

    This field allows you to copy only a subset of the results on a data page into the property.
  7. In the Parameters section, set values for the data transform parameters.

  8. Optional:

    To save parameters to the data page at run time, click Save parameters with this property for access on reopen.

  9. Click Save.
