Running a decision strategy simulation on sampled production data

Updated on September 10, 2021

After migrating the data, run simulations on the sample production data that you imported. You can use the customer sampling data set as a source to run simulations in the Pega Customer Decision Hub™ or the Pega Marketing™ portal.

Running a simulation

  1. In your Business Operations environment, in the navigation pane of the Pega Customer Decision Hub or Pega Marketing application, click Simulation testing.
  2. On the Simulation Testing landing page, open a new simulation instance by clicking Create.
  3. In the Configure simulation settings work area, configure the simulation settings.
For more information, see Creating simulation tests in Pega Customer Decision Hub.
  4. Click Submit and Run, and then monitor the progress of the simulation.

Conclusions

You have run a simulation to test how the changes that you made impact your decision strategy. You can now decide whether you want to implement the changes on a live system.

What to do next

After the simulation run completes, in the Assigned reports section, open the output of the simulation, such as a report or the Scenario Planner. Compare the results with the outcome of the original strategy before the changes to help you verify whether the updates produce the results that you expected.

To view the main process outline for this tutorial, see Configuring the system for running simulations of decision strategies.
