Email case creation in Pega Pharmacovigilance

Updated on July 14, 2017

Pega Pharmacovigilance enhances and simplifies case creation by enabling you to automatically create cases from incoming email messages. The application creates cases by capturing email data that is arranged in key and value pairs in a Pega-provided template. The rule that contains this template is webwb SampleEmailForPVCaseInstantiation txt.

The template applies only to the CreateCaptureProductIssue email listener that uses the subjects of incoming email to identify the messages that are eligible for case creation and creates cases from these messages. If the subject of an incoming email does not contain the mandatory phrase Product Issue Intake Email, or if the body of the email is empty, the Service Email rule creates a problem case and sends a notification to the initiator. After a case is successfully created, the system sends a response that contains the Event ID to the initiator.

For information about extending email case creation, see the Implementation Guide on the Pega Pharmacovigilance page.
