Gather Process & Persona Samples
Once the Case Type Backlog and the MLP for first production release have been confirmed with the customer and key stakeholders, you need to validate the Case Steps, roles and channels for the Product Backlog items in the first production release.
What and Why
This step is necessary to validate the project inputs and identify the Data Entities that should be used, which are typically related to the interfaces and services the application will call to render data. During development, you will use Pega Data Pages to separate the technical implementation of the interface from the business use of the data it provided.
The project team should run a maximum half-day workshop with the business to refine the Case Types data & personas. You should identify:
- The types of data entities that the case will contain (e.g., address, income, phone), with data elements where known.
- Format of any data elements known.
- The sources and destinations (read and write) of data used by the case (e.g., interfaces).
- Any special requirements the roles will need (e.g., a portal into the system or special reporting requirements).
Following this workshop, the business will typically need time to gather any missing information. Hold regular reviews of this data to ensure it is in the right format, and agree on a target date for this business dependency to be completed in readiness for the Build Phase. The actual business data is needed for development and also testing in each Sprint.
