How do I launch a new Internet Explorer window from my web adapter?

Follow these steps to launch a new Internet Explorer (IE) window from a web adapter:

These options will launch a new window that might not be controlled by Studio with default adapter settings. To control these new windows, you may need to enable the UseKeys property of various controls in the control hierarchy.

  1. Use the ExecuteScript method of a web page that is matched. Use the following code; “window.open(url)” (where url is the address to the page you want to open surrounded by quotation marks “http://www.pega.com”) with the language set to “JavaScript”. This launches a new IE window within the current IE process. Studio will be able to interact with this window by default.
  2. Use the Navigate method of the web browser control. Use the method that takes two parameters. The second parameter is a Boolean that will launch a new window when set to True.
