How to use a variable time period in report selection criteria

Updated on September 20, 2019

Summary

A developer asks:

How can I introduce symbolic dates in queries/reports?For example:

.pxCreateDateTime >= First day of the current month.

Suggested Approach

Use tools such as expressions and activities in place of symbolic constructs not supported.

However, reports can reference a property that lives in any page in the clipboard.  If you're configuring a report that requires sophisticated parameters, you can use tools such as expressions and activities to build up those parameters as properties on such a page.

Then you can reference those properties as parameters to the report.
