Pega Platform patch release schedule and contents
The Pega Platform patch release process applies to systems running Pega Platform 8.1 and later. Several cumulative patches are released a year for each release stream. The Pega software patch process dynamically determines the deltas between the patch release and the version you are running and only installs those deltas.
For details about the Pega Infinity patch policy and an overview of the Pega patch process, see Pega software maintenance and extended support policy.
To review the list of issues resolved in a given patch, see the Resolved Issues page and select the latest patch version for your release stream. For information about the latest patch for a release stream, see Pega Platform Patch Releases - Resolved issues download.
- Patching systems without downtime (Pega 8.4 and later)
Pega supports clients applying more recent patches for releases 8.4 and later using a zero-time patch process to apply the latest cumulative bundle of bug and security fixes since the last minor release. For releases 8.4 and later, the Pega zero-downtime patch scripts use a temporary data schema and the patch migration script moves the rules between the appropriate schema.
- Patching systems without downtime (8.2 to 8.3.x)
Pega supports clients applying release 8.2.x and 8.3.x patches using a zero-time patch process to apply the latest cumulative bundle of bug and security fixes since the last minor release. For releases 8.2.x and 8.3.x, the Pega zero-downtime patch scripts move rules into the rules schema patch, while the scripts move rules and objects in and out of the data schema using an in-place process.
