Downloading a mobile app in a binary file

Updated on November 9, 2021

After you build a mobile app, you can download the app binary file that contains the packaged, branded app.

To enable downloading a mobile app to a mobile device, make sure that the Publish to users via smart app banner check box is enabled for this app.
Note: Unique download links are generated for the iOS and Android app builds. Do not share a specific download link across different platforms.
  1. Optional: If you want to download a mobile app to a desktop or laptop computer:
    1. In Dev Studio, click the name of your application, and then click Channels and interfaces.
    2. In the Explorer panel, click Interfaces.
    3. In the Current channel interfaces section, click a mobile app tile.
    4. On the General tab, locate the QR code for Android or iOS.
    5. Right-click and copy the download link.
    6. Send the link in email or distribute otherwise.
  2. If you want to download a mobile app to a mobile device:
    1. Tap the link on the smart app banner to initiate a download to the mobile device.
    2. After the download finishes, upload the app onto a distribution mechanism of choice.
