Making mobile apps available to users

Version:

To use a mobile app that you configure for a Pega Platform application in production, configure an operator role to provide users with access to your mobile app.

When you develop a mobile app for a Pega Platform application, for example, an expense reporting app for users on a business trip, you give yourself and other authors permissions to preview and test the mobile app. When you complete the development stage, you make the mobile app available to users by assigning the mobile interface to their corresponding role, for example, User.
  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Users, and then click Personas.

  2. In the Role area, next to the role that you assigned to the users of your Pega Platform application, in the Channel interface list, select a mobile channel.

  3. Click Save.

The mobile channel is now available to users with the role that you selected.
You can generate the mobile app distributable files that let end users access your application. For more information, see Generating native mobile apps.

  • Selecting an authentication service

Build safe mobile apps by selecting an authentication source that matches your security requirements. For example, you can use the default account authentication to effectively build secure apps that users can access with Pega Platform credentials.

  • Increasing mobile app security with time-outs and native locks

Increase the security of your mobile apps by configuring automatic app locks, and by adding convenient and secure mechanisms to unlock them. For example, you can configure your app to lock after a period of time, and make it unlockable by using a native fingerprint scanner.

  • Developing mobile apps

Use Pega Platform to efficiently create and deploy a mobile app that supplements your desktop and web applications, and suits different business requirements.
