Previous versions

8.10.0
  • Support for large file attachments

Client for Windows can now store and synchronize large binary data items and their corresponding actions from the action queue. Users can view, attach, and delete data files from within a case view, whether the device is online or offline. This enhancement resulted in changes to the ClientStore API. For more information, see ClientStore API.

  • Enhanced Attach Content control support

Users can now take screenshots with a device camera, by using the Attach Content control from within a case view. Images are attached to the case, and image file names are based on a time stamp. If a device has no camera, a native file picker control opens. For more information, see Attach content support in offline mode.

  • API set expansion

The Client for Windows API now includes several device integration APIs that you can use to create applications that use the existing functionality of end-user devices.

    • Geolocation API - Capture, collect, and send geolocation coordinates to Pega Platform. The API conforms with the standard W3C Geolocation API.
    • Document Picker - Capture media and retrieve documents from the gallery.
    • Document Viewer - View the content of external documents.
    • Filesystem - Access the native file system of the device
For more information about the supported interfaces and relevant methods, see the Pega Client for Windows API reference.
7.40.0
This release focuses on improving overall performance of the product.
7.31.0
This release focuses on improving overall performance and introduces the following enhancement:
  • New customization parameter

The customization.properties file now contains a windows.appId parameter that allows you to specify an identifier of the client application. This parameter is similar to the previously available applicationName parameter but its value cannot contain spaces or special characters.

7.30.0
  • Pega Client for Windows

You can take advantage of Pega Platform capabilities by using a dedicated Windows application instead of a web browser.

  • Enhanced platform support

Client for Windows has been tested to work on desktop, laptop, and tablet devices that run both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) Windows 10 systems.

  • General availability of the client

A free Client for Windows feature is now available for which you specify only the URL path to an existing Pega Platform application. You can use it to run Pega Platform applications, even before you build them into your customized Windows application. It can be downloaded from Pega Marketplace. For instructions on building your Pega Platform application in Client for Windows, see Building a Pega Client for Windows application.

  • Pega offline capability

Client for Windows provides a solution that allows you to run Pega Platform offline-enabled applications. With this goal in mind it features the following enhancements to the exposed API:

    • ClientStore API - Synchronize data by using the HTTP maps replication process, as well as initialize the store and forward process.
    • Authentication API - Implement mechanisms to block access to an app and to log the user in to Pega Platform.
    • Container Lifecycle API - Manage and monitor your native application's life cycle.
    • Interapp Communicator API - Send events from one web application to another web application running within Client for Windows.
    • Logger API - Change the current logging level and access the log file.
    • User Accounts API - Manage user accounts and update account information.
    • Web Application Lifecycle API - Install, start, and stop web applications that run within the Client for Windows.
For more information about the supported interfaces and relevant methods, see the API reference.
