Resuming a Campaign

Updated on August 4, 2022

Use the Resume action (from the Actions menu) to resume a suspended Campaign. This action is only available if the marketer hasn't modified the Campaign after it was suspended.

Pega Customer Decision Hub

When performing this action, the marketer can determine what the system should do to scheduled runs.

  • Resume all unexecuted campaign runs - In this option, all runs that were not executed will be resumed. This will also include all runs that are now in the past. Campaign execution will start with the earliest run (that was not executed) and continue until it has caught up with the current time. This implies that if there are multiple runs in the past that were not executed, they will execute one after the other.

  • Remove all past unexecuted campaign runs - In this option, any run that is not executed but in the past will be removed. This option basically provides a mechanism for ignoring (skipping over) runs that are in the past and resuming Campaign execution with the next run, i.e. one that is scheduled to execute on or after today.

  • Remove all past unexecuted campaign runs except the last - In this option, all past runs that were not executed will be removed with the exception of the last one. This option will execute the last run immediately on submission and then follow the rest of the upcoming Campaign schedule.

Regardless of the option selected above, the system displays the list of runs that will be resumed so that the marketer can see the impact the various resumption options will have on Campaign execution. The marketer can enter a note when they resume the Campaign.

Upon submission of this action, the system transitions the Campaign back to the running stage and notifies the user who launches this Campaign for execution that it has been resumed. The notification email contains a link to open the Campaign.
