Configuring the requests and responses for an Intelligent Virtual Assistant for Facebook Messenger

The Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) for Facebook Messenger sends a response when a Facebook Messenger user receives a message. The Facebook Messenger channel provides several responses that are used to manage standard response behavior. You can also create your own response.

  1. Log in to Designer Studio by using the following credentials.
    User Name: FMBotAdmin
    Password: install
  2. Click Designer Studio > Channels.
  3. On the Channels page, select a Facebook Messenger channel.
    If you have not created a Facebook channel, see Configuring a Facebook Page for an Intelligent Virtual Assistant.
  4. To add a Create Work request, in the Request section, complete the following tasks.
    1. Click Add Request and select Create Work.
    2. In the Case Type list, select a case type. The case type is added to the Response name (keyword) field.

    3. Click Submit.
  5. To add a Menu request, in the Request section, complete the following tasks.
    1. Click Add Request and select Menu.
    2. In the Show in Menu column, select the responses that you want to display in the menu.
    3. In the Response name (keyword) field, enter a name.
    4. Click Submit.
  6. To add a Response request, in the Request section, complete the following tasks.
    1. Click Add Request and select Response.
    2. In the Response name (keyword) field, enter a name.
    3. In the Respond with list, select a value and then enter its corresponding value.
      • For static information, specify a simple statement response.
      • For dynamic responses, specify dynamic data from a data page.
    4. Click Submit.
