Request Access

Updated on January 18, 2021

When an Agent who is interested in a case searches for and tries to open a case, if they are unauthorized, the user cannot access the case and must request access to open the case.

You create the Request Access case type in Investigative Case Management. The case type includes an assignment that is routed to the case owner, who is a work party that is added to the case. This can be an operator who is designated as the case owner, or in the event of no case owner, to a supervisor.

Upon receiving of the access request, the work party can either:

  • Approve the access request, which provides full access to the case.
  • Reject the access request, which prevents the user from accessing the case.
  • Approve a custom, read-only access, which in addition to the case details, can include access to read-only documents, case notes, interviews, subjects, and so on.

Note: To make Request Access work in the implementation layer, save as the following AROs to the implementation layer with the corresponding implementation class name and access roles.
