Health status change notification – node health indicators and status thresholds

Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud® (PDC) sends the Health status change notification when the health of a node in your system deteriorates. For example, when the number of active requestors on a node exceeds 400, PDC considers the health status of that node critical, and notifies all subscribers.

For more information about PDC notifications, see Managing notifications in Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud.

You can view the current health status of your nodes on the following PDC landing pages:

  • Enterprise
The following figure presents the health status indicators on the Enterprise landing page:
The Health status change notification triggers on the Enterprise landing page in PDC
"The Enterprise landing page in PDC with the Health status change notification triggers highligthed"

  • System Resources > Nodes
The following figure presents the health status indicators on the System Resources > Nodes landing page:

The following table lists the circumstances that trigger the change of health status, and the thresholds for particular health statuses:

Node health indicator Warning status threshold Critical status threshold Additional notification condition
Requestors
The number of active requestors
300 or more 400 or more If the number of requestors is unknown
Agents
The number of agents that are running correctly
100 or more Fewer than 5 agents
CPU
Average CPU usage for Java in a 2-minute interval
50% or more 85% or more
DB
The state of database connections

or an SQL Warning 01 has occurred
60 or more connections
or a Critical SQL Exception 02 has occurred

(No warning threshold) If 5 or more minutes have passed since PDC received the last health message
HTTP response
The average response time of an HTTP request
5 seconds or more 30 seconds or more

Have any urgent events occurred?
(No warning threshold) If any urgent events have occurred on the node
