Managing notifications in Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud
Inform Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud™ (PDC) users about system health and various events by setting up daily digests and event-based notifications. Keep all or specific users up to date with a complete Improvement Plan, a list of up to the five most urgent items from various affected areas, a periodic digest of new cases, and event-based notifications.

Adding a new notification
Create a notification subscription.
- In the PDC header, click the Properties icon, and then select Notifications > Manage notifications.
- On the Manage notifications landing page, click .

Selecting types of notification
Choose between daily digests and event-based notifications.
- To receive a notification when a specific event occurs on your system, click Event-based notifications.
- In the System field, select a monitored system.
- In the Notification name field, select the notification for which you want to create a subscription.
You can enter a keyword to filter the list, for example, enter database to find notifications for database events, such as the PEGA0106 alert, or to find database configuration issues.
- To periodically receive a complete Improvement Plan, a list of up to the five most urgent items, or a digest of new cases, click Daily digest notifications.
- In the System field, select a monitored system.
- In the Notification name field, select the notification for which you want to create a subscription.

In the Schedule section, select the days on which you want to send the notifications.
Optional: Setting the frequency of event-based notifications
By default, PDC sends an event-based notification if an event occurs at least once in five minutes. You can limit the number of notifications, for example, if you expect that a specific issue might occur hundreds of times in a short period of time, and you want to avoid generating unnecessary network traffic.
- In the Notify when section, click Event occurred at least <number> time(s) in the last <time period>.
- In the text field, enter the minimum number of occurrences, and in the drop-down list, select the time period. For example, enter 5 and 15 minutes respectively to only receive a notification if the event occurs at least five times in 15 minutes.
Adding recipients
Specify the recipients of the new notification.
- In the Notification method section, select where you want to send notifications:
- To send notifications to specific email addresses, take the following steps:
- Select the Email check box
- For each recipient that you want to add, click Add new, and then, in the Email address field, enter the recipient's address.
- Optional: To immediately send the selected daily digest to the selected recipients, click Send now.
This method is only available for daily digest notifications.
- To send event-based notifications to specific phone numbers, perform the following steps:
- Select the SMS check box.
- For each recipient that you want to add, click Add new, and then, in the Country prefix field and the Mobile number field, enter the recipient's details.
- To create a ServiceNow event or incident for every occurrence of the selected event-based notification, take the following steps:
- Select the ServiceNow check box.
- In the Target table list, select the type of item that you want to create in ServiceNow.
PDC displays this option only after you enable the ServiceNow integration. For more information, see Integrating Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud with ServiceNow. - To store the selected event-based notification for retrieval via the Notification API, select the Notification API check box.

Muting notifications
You can temporarily pause a notification, for example, if you are working on resolving a known problem and want to avoid unnecessary network traffic.
- In the PDC header, click the Properties icon, and then select Notifications > Manage notifications.
- To mute a notification, click the icon next to the notification.
Unmuting notifications
Resume a notification that has been muted.
- In the PDC header, click the Properties icon, and then select Notifications > Manage notifications.
- To unmute a notification, click the icon next to the notification.
