Muting Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud notifications by scheduling maintenance of your system

If your system undergoes maintenance or has planned downtime, you can schedule a maintenance window to avoid sending unnecessary messages to users. Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud™ (PDC) does not send any notifications about a system for which maintenance mode is active. Avoiding unnecessary messages saves users' time and increases their confidence in notifications to which they have subscribed.

When maintenance mode is active, PDC does not send notifications through the following methods:

  • Email
  • SMS
  • Notifications API

You can schedule, reschedule, and disable maintenance mode separately for each of your systems by performing the following tasks:

Scheduling maintenance mode

To temporarily mute email, SMS, and API notifications for a specific system, take the following actions:

  1. Log in to PDC as a manager.
  2. In the PDC header, click the Properties icon, and then select System Administration > Schedule maintenance mode.
  3. Click Schedule Maintenance.
  4. In the Schedule maintenance mode window, on the System list, select the system for which you want to schedule maintenance.
  5. In the Starting time field, enter the time, and then select the date when you want to enable maintenance mode.
  6. In the Hours and Minutes fields, enter the expected duration of the system maintenance or downtime session.

    After this time, maintenance mode switches off automatically and PDC reactivates notifications for the system.

  7. Click Submit.
    On the Maintenance Mode landing page, you can view instances of maintenance mode that are scheduled, that are currently active, or that have recently ended.

Rescheduling maintenance mode

Edit a scheduled instance of maintenance mode:

  1. Log in to PDC as a manager.
  2. In the PDC header, click the Properties icon, and then select System Administration > Schedule maintenance mode.
  3. Find the instance of maintenance mode that you want to reschedule, and click the Properties icon next to it.
  4. In the Schedule maintenance mode window, in the Starting time field, enter the time, and then select the date when you want to enable maintenance mode.
  5. In the Hours and Minutes fields, enter the expected duration of the system maintenance or downtime session.

    After this time, the maintenance mode switches off automatically and PDC reactivates notifications for the system.

  6. Click Submit.

Disabling scheduled or active maintenance mode

Disable an instance of maintenance mode that you have scheduled, or one that is currently active:

  1. Log in to PDC as a manager.
  2. In the PDC header, click the Properties icon, and then select System Administration > Schedule maintenance mode.
  3. Find the instance of maintenance mode that you want to disable, and turn off the Enabled switch next to it.
