Importing users

Version:

Only available versions of this content are shown in the dropdown

Create multiple Pega Robot Manager user accounts in just a few clicks by importing a .csv file that contains user data.

Ensure that the authentication method for new users is configured.

New users are assigned basic or single sign-on access to Pega Robot Manager automatically on import, based on their roles. The association of user roles with an authentication method is configured by the system administrator through dynamic system settings.

For more information, see Configuring authentication for new users.

The user file to import to Pega Robot Manager must contain the First name, Last name, Email address, UPN, Department path, Role, and Status columns, as shown in the following example:

User data to import to Pega Robot Manager

Consider the following points:

  • You can download a template to ensure that your data is formatted correctly.
  • For the basic authentication method, the Email address entry is used as the user identifier in Pega Robot Manager. You can leave the UPN column entry.
  • For single sign-on, the UPN entry is used as the user identifier in Pega Robot Manager. You can still populate the Email address column so that it is used for other purposes, for example, receiving notifications.
  • In the Department path column, the exclamation point character denotes a department level. A valid department path must consist of at least three levels, for example AH!Toys!Cars.

    Downloading the template

  1. In the application header, click Users.

  2. Click the People tab.

  3. Click Actions Import users .

  4. Click Download Template.

  5. Save the template in your directory.

  6. Populate the template with data.

For basic authentication, provide the users with the temporary password for the first-time log-on. For more information, see Configuring authentication for new users.
Users are prompted to change the password on the first login, after they provide the temporary password. In case of login issues, users can use the Forgot password? button to get a new temporary password.
