What causes an Agile Desktop Fatal Application Error?

Updated on December 14, 2021

If you get a message similar to the following, it indicates the computer cannot find the files it needs to run Agile Desktop:

Fatal Application Error dialog

These files are stored in the AgileDesktop folder. This folder is installed with Robot Studio and is automatically configured for Robot Studio. For an Agile Desktop install, however, you need to...

  • Place the AgileDesktop folder in an accessible location
  • Configure each Agile Desktop installation to look for the AgileDesktop folder

The best way to make sure all Agile Desktop users have access to the same AgileDesktop folder is to host it on an internally available web server. This is the approach we recommend.

For more information, see the "Deploying Agile Desktop to End Users" topic in the Agile Desktop Implementation Guide.
