Improving data import performance by using configuration templates

Updated on February 25, 2020

To import huge data sets from external systems into Pega Sales Automation™ by using the Data import wizard or File listener with improved performance, you can use configuration templates.

Note: Before starting the procedure, to access the templates, ensure that you have the PegaRULES:DatabaseAdministrator role. To check roles, in Dev Studio, open access roles and view Available roles.

To view and use configuration templates, perform the following steps:

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure Dev Studio.
  2. Click Application > Tools > Data Migration Settings.
  3. Press the Down Arrow key to view the configuration templates that are shipped with Sales Automation.
  4. Optional: In the Configuration template section, you can perform any of the following steps:
    • To add templates, from the Template drop-down menu, select Create new.
    • To clone templates, from the Clone from drop-down menu, select a template.
    • To disable history, clear the Disable history for all work classes check box.
    • To disable database indexes and background processing for specified classes, click Add class.
    • To disable queue processors, click Add queue processor.
    • To disable agents, click Add agents.
    • To disable job schedulers, click Add job scheduler.
    • To disable listeners, click Add listener.
    • To change values for dynamic system settings, click Add setting.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Select the required configuration template and then click Execute template.
  7. Start the data import process.

For more information, see Pega Sales Automation data import.

  8. After you finish the data import process, revert the configuration template by clicking Revert configuration.
Note: Only one configuration template is active at a time.
