Exporting and importing IDs in Workforce Intelligence

Updated on December 28, 2022

In Pega Workforce Intelligence™, administrators can export information, such as data collection users, to a CSV file.

Programs like Microsoft Excel might change the format of your data when you open the exported CSV file. For example, values such as Primary or Alternate ID might include leading zeros that uniquely identify data collectors. If you use Excel to open and manage the exported CSV file, Excel removes leading zeros. Before you submit the file to Pega Support to import back to Workforce Intelligence, it is important to check for this issue and restore all leading zeros.

To restore leading zeros, refer to documentation for the tool you use to manage the exported data. For example, if you use Excel, consult the  Keeping leading zeros and large numbers  article available from Microsoft Support to resolve this issue.

Note: This issue only applies when you export existing data and open the CSV in Excel. Leading zeros remain in place when you create and edit a CSV file directly in Excel.
