PEGA0049 alert: Problem with the Lucene index

The PEGA0049 alert is triggered whenever automatic monitoring of the Lucene index files notes that a dummy search on the files encounters problems. The Pega 7 Platform uses Lucene to support full-text searches of Rule-, Data-, and Work- instances. The alert indicates that there is a problem with the Lucene index, and that search results might not be accurate. The alert is displayed on the Search landing page, according to the schedule set (hourly, daily, weekly, or every five minutes), until the user reindexes the search.

Example message text

Lucene search feature is unavailable for [Rules/Work/Data].

Reason for the alert

The system raises this alert whenever automatic monitoring of the Lucene index files, which include a sample search attempt, discovers a problem that causes the search to fail. Check that the settings on the Search landing page are correct. If the settings seem correct but the alert continues to appear, reindex the search for rules, work, or data, according to the message in the alert.
