Perform Customer and/or Industry Specific Validation-OLD

Updated on July 18, 2019

Some projects may require specific testing to be performed before the application can go live. This is often due to regulatory or industry specific requirements that dictate specific tests and validations be performed on a system before it goes into production.

What

It is important to identify any customer or industry specific validations required and plan how and when this testing should be executed before release. Pre-requisites, dependencies, testing and acceptance criteria, expected results, etc. must be identified and completed in advance.

Why

A final layer of testing is sometimes needed to satisfy a regulatory or industry mandated requirement. May also be needed to satisfy an internal control or gate required by the customer.

How

Once the stakeholders and the Scrum Team determine that we are ready for deployment to production, this testing is executed. The customer should lead this testing effort with assistance, as needed, from the project team. Once this testing is completed, the project can be approved for release and go-live.
