About Service COM rules

Updated on August 16, 2022

The rule type rule-service-COM is deprecated. Use Service dotNET rules instead.

The following tabs are available on this form:

Use Service COM rules to define an interface that lets external users and systems access the Pega Platform data and processing through Microsoft Common Object Model technology.

When the rules forming a package are completed, use the Service Package data instance to generate an ActiveX Dynamic Linked Library (DLL file) that calls the services from Windows-based systems.

Access

Use the Application Explorer to see Service COM rules in your application. Use the Records Explorer to list all Service COM rules that are available to you.

Category

Service COM rules belong to the Integration-Services category. A Service COM rule is an instance of the Rule-Service-COM rule type.
