Privilege-Check method

Updated on August 16, 2022

Use this method to determine whether the current requestor has access to a specific privilege ( Rule-Access-Privilege rule type). The privileges that a requestor holds are determined by the contents of the Privilege tab of the set of Access of Rule to Object rules associated with the access roles of the user.

Parameters

This method has two parameters:

ParameterDescription
PrivilegeName Identify the privilege to check, the second key part of a Rule-Access-Privilege rule instance.
PrivilegeClass Optional. Enter the Applies To key part of the privilege. If blank, the system uses the first key part of the activity as the first key part.

Results

The system uses rule resolution to locate the privilege rule, and then determines whether the current requestor holds this privilege. It stores the results in the method status property.

Checking the method status

This method updates the pxMethodStatus property. See How to test method results using a transition.
