Adding an operator by using the organizational chart

You can create operator ID data instances for a selected organization by using the Organizational Chart tab on the Organization landing page.

  1. Display the organizational chart by doing one of the following steps.

    • Click Configure Org & Security Organization Organizational Chart .
    • Open the Organization, Division, or Organization Unit rule form, and go to the Charts tab.
  2. Right-click to open the pop-up panel, and click Add Operator.

A pop-up window appears. The organization, department, or unit values are automatically filled depending upon which node you choose.
  3. Enter any missing organization information. Enter an operator ID, password, and full name. Select the operator's access group. All values are required.

  4. Click OK to create the operator ID instance.

  5. Open the operator ID instance to add or modify the information. Some values such as work group and calendar are copied from a data transform.

  • Creating operator IDs

When you create an operator ID in Pega Platform, you set up a unique account so that a user can access the system. By creating an operator ID you can set the identifying information of the user, define their access rights, and configure password settings. You can also add additional details, such as their skills, to ensure that work is routed to the user based on their capabilities.

  • Learning about operators

An operator defines a unique identifier, password, preferences, and personal information for a user. Create operators so that people and processes can access your application.
