Property security rules

Property security rules enable you to restrict operator access to properties by privilege. To view a report that references the secured property, operators must have at least one of the privileges specified on the property security rule.

The Report Browser prevents users who lack all of the listed privileges from viewing or editing reports that reference a property that is secured with a property security rule. This includes properties that are referenced through inheritance.

At run time, the system finds the relevant property security rules by doing the following steps:

  • Filter the candidate rules based on the requestor's ruleset list.
  • If no matching rule is found in the starting class, search for candidates in ancestor classes in the class hierarchy.

Circumstances and time-based qualifications are not available for property security rules.

  • Standard privileges

Pega Platform includes about 300 standard privileges. Many of the standard privileges provide the ability to run specific individual standard flow actions and individual standard flows. Alternatively, if you have the AllFlows and AllFlowActions privileges, you can access all the standard flows and all the standard flow actions respectively.

  • Managing access roles

An access role rule defines a name for a role, and represents a set of capabilities. To deliver these capabilities to users, you reference the access role name in other rule types to assign the access role to users and to provide, or restrict, access to certain classes.
