Regular Expression rules

Updated on July 1, 2021

Regular Expression rules support operation of the Rule Security Analyzer by defining patterns of text that when found in the code being examined, cause the analyzer to report potential security issues.

Open a regular expression rule from the navigation panel by clicking RecordsSecurityRule Analyzer Regular Expression and selecting a rule from the instance list.

On the Regular Expression tab, enter the regular expression (regex). Note that the system does not check that the regular expression is properly formed, and does not warn you if it contains a problem in its syntax.

Category

Regular Expression rules are part of the Security category. A regular expression rule is an instance of the Rule-SecurityVA-Regex rule type.
