Viewing keystore usage history in the platform cipher

View the keystore usage history to see which keystores were used previously or by whom the keystores were activated in the platform cipher. Viewing the keystore usage history can help you determine which keystore can be used in the future.

To view keystore history, you must have the pxCanManageDataEncryption privilege, which is included in the PegaRULES:SecurityAdministrator role.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure System Settings Data Encryption .

  2. Click Platform cipher.

  3. In the Keystore usage history section, in the Application data table, click View all.

  4. Review the information about the keystores that are used in the platform cipher.

  • Configuring the platform cipher

Use the platform cipher to encrypt and decrypt sensitive data in your application without the need to create and code your own custom cipher. By using the platform cipher, you do not need to share knowledge about sensitive data in your application with Pega staff, because their assistance is not required to install a cipher.

  • Encrypting data

To make your data more secure, you can select the type of encryption to use in your application to encrypt and decrypt passwords, properties, and BLOBs.
