Preparing to install hotfixes

Version:

Only available versions of this content are shown in the dropdown

After you download a hotfix package, prepare your system for updates.

  1. Reviewing hotfixes

Before installing a hotfix, you must find out whether extra installation steps are required. Review the hotfixes from the Hotfix Manager.

  2. IBM Db2 for z/OS: Preparing to import an application with schema changes and a separate DB-Admin-DB-Name

If you plan to import an application with schema changes and a separate DB-Admin-DB-Name and you are using IBM Db2 for z/OS, follow these instructions to configure the import parameters before you import the application, or the import fails.

  3. Applying database schema changes

If a hotfix package includes database schema changes, you can choose whether to apply the schema with the other hotfix changes or in a separate step. If you choose a separate step, you can generate an SQL script so that a database administrator can review the changes and manually apply them to the database.
