Upgrade center end-to-end engagement process

Pegasystems offers a range of services, features, and coaching to ensure the success of your organization in upgrading to the latest version of the Pega 7 Platform. Upgrading to the Pega 7 Platform allows you to take advantage of the latest product features and mitigates security risk by providing you with a steady rhythm of lightweight updates that enable you to stay current, secure, and ahead of the competition.

To upgrade your existing PRPC application to the Pega 7 Platform, you must first register with the Pegasystems Upgrade Center portal. You can register by clicking Click to Begin My Upgrade Project. After you register, an engagement manager contacts you to conduct an introductory meeting to review the digital content, tools, and services that are available through the upgrade program.

FastStart workshop

In the FastStart workshop, a Pegasystems subject matter expert (SME) travels to your location and conducts a workshop to determine the following:

  • Customer roadmap alignment with the Pega 7 Platform and strategic applications and customization assessment
  • Upgrade methodology and effort estimate
  • Deployment platform and data migration requirements
  • Proposed solutions to upgrade issues

Based on this analysis, the SME upgrades a sandbox application environment with access to the interfaces and prepares a report that contains the following information:

  • Upgrade strategy and the route-to-live plan
  • Estimate of the level of effort
  • Coaching for the customer or partner in the upgrade methodology

The SME advises on the best practices for the upgrade and also provides guidance for resolving any issues that are found.

Sample upgrade assessment

In the sample upgrade assessment, the Pegasystems upgrade team sets up a sample application with your rulesets, application database export, and schema customizations in a secure Pegasystems upgrade lab.

The candidate flows that represent the core business functionality identified by your application architects will be stubbed by the Pegasystems upgrade team.

After the application is stubbed, the upgrade is performed on the entire application and a demo of the candidate flow running on the Pega 7 Platform is presented to you. An assessment report containing the details of the bugs or issues discovered during the upgrade process, along with their resolution is also provided. The Pegasystems upgrade team provides you with support for 90 days or advisory services after the sample upgrade assessment for any upgrade-related issues.
