Preparing a translation package for a translator

Updated on April 5, 2022

Before sending the translation package to a translator, review the TextToTranslate.xml file to ensure that the package contains the correct field values.

In the TextToTranslate.xml file, the class names are occasionally exported, but they do not need to be translated. You can remove unnecessary items from the spreadsheet.

  1. Unzip the translation package .zip file.

  2. Open the TextToTranslate.xml file in Microsoft Excel.

  3. Verify that all the columns are present.

  4. Delete rows that contain values that are not translated, or that are translated in other translation packages.

  5. Read all comments that are entered in the Comments column.

  6. Check consistency and spelling.

  7. Close the file and click Save.

  8. Compress the package to a .zip file.

  • Localization wizard

Use the Localization wizard to make an application available in additional languages. The wizard automates many of the steps necessary to create language-specific rulesets.
