How to remove icons from a harness header

Updated on May 3, 2020

Summary

When you create a harness, the topmost container using the Standard Header format displays by default four non-auto-generated icons in the header area: History, Attachments, ExpandAll, and Close.

In some applications, these or other icons you may have added to this area may not be useful or desirable. This article describes how to remove these icons entirely or individually from the header.

This article covers V6.2. To remove the icons in V5.X harnesses, see How to remove standard icons on the work form header by editing the harness rule.

Note: Unlike V5X user forms, the standard V6.2 Work-.New, Work-.Perform, Work-.Review, and Work-.Confirm harnesses do not use container headers. If you create a harness rule for your application by copying (with Save As) one of these standard rules, the icons are not present and the steps described here are unnecessary.

Suggested Approach

To remove all icons:

    1. select the Display Options tab.
    2. Clear the Show container icons checkbox.

    3. Click Preview in the toolbar to view the modified header.

To remove individual icons:

    1. Select the icon you want to remove.
    2. Click the trash can icon .

    1. The icon is removed.
