Troubleshooting: Minimized IE 6 browser window titles not correctly localized

Updated on September 13, 2021

Symptom

Users can access Process Commander (in an Internet Explorer 6 browser window) in many languages, depending upon localization.

A user can change the locale in Internet Explorer from English to Hind. If the Process Commander application is properly localized, then Process Commander windows appear appropriately in Hindi.

However, if this IE browser window is minimized, the title on the button at the bottom of the screen does not display properly in Hindi, but will show nonsense characters.  This problem only occurs with some languages, including Hindi; other languages, such as French, display correctly.

Solution

This is not an issue with Process Commander, but with running Internet Explorer with a Hindi locale on an English version of the desktop.

If the user runs on a Hindi version of the desktop, the minimized browser tabs display correctly.
