What is the difference between Agile Desktop and Runtime?
Both Agile Desktop and Runtime provide a way to make the Studio solutions you develop available to users. Both share much in common, the difference is in the user interface.
With Runtime, the user interface is optional and is something a Studio developer must create. With Agile Desktop, much of the user interface is created for you by Studio. You only have to customize Agile Desktop to meet the needs of your implementation. Common ways to customize Agile Desktop include the following:
- Choosing colors
- Adding logos
- Defining shortcuts
- Specifying a repository for Notes
- Assisting sign-on
- Automatically starting the day by loading specified applications
Note: All of the Agile Desktop user interface files are stored in the AgileDesktop folder. When you implement Agile Desktop, you must provide access to this folder to each Agile Desktop user.
