Deliver user-friendly questionnaires by prepopulating answers (8.6)
Help users complete questionnaires faster and speed up case processing by prepopulating answers for specific questions. When you run a questionnaire in the context of a parent case, you can now define a data propagation from the parent case to the questionnaire. You map information that users provide in the case with questions in the questionnaire, and, as a result, at run time, these questions already contain answers.
For example, when users want to file a complaint about their stay at a hotel, they might need to provide basic information about their stay, such as the dates and type of room. They might also need to complete a questionnaire to rate the hotel service as part of the case processing. Your application can prepopulate answers in the questionnaire that relate to the same information that the users already provided in the case. Consequently, users avoid providing the same information twice, and can complete the questionnaire faster.
The following figure shows how data propagation works at run time when users process cases:
With data propagation, you can also deliver your applications faster, because you can reuse questionnaires in a case in a context that is familiar to users. You can also include data propagated from a parent case into logic that you define in a child case. For example, if a user provides their monthly income in a parent case, in the child case you can create visibility conditions that display selected questions to the user if their income is greater than a specified amount.
