What's new in Process Commander V5.3 - Integration

Released in July 2007, Process Commander V5.3 offers dozens of new capabilities for developers, application users, and system administrators, and resolves issues found in earlier versions. For an overview, see What's new in Process Commander 5.3.

Six features provide additional capability to integrate your application with external systems:

New Email Accelerator

A new accelerator simplifies configuration of both incoming and outgoing e-mail.

New Connector and Metadata Accelerator

A new accelerator replaces and extends the functions of the 5.2 connector wizard and external data table wizard. (The 5.2 wizards remain available for backward compatibility.)

  • You can import WSDL, XSD, DTD, and JavaBeans metadata (as before)
  • You can identify previous runs that used the same metadata
  • When running the accelerator with previously processed metadata, you can overwrite, skip, or rename rules or data instances already created.
  • The wizard generates activities that call Obj- methods, rather than RDB- methods when appropriate.
  • Clean-up and backout facilities are enhanced.

  • Ability to publish a flow as a service including any or all flow actions
  • Ability to create, copy, or reuse a Service Package instance

Displays for MQ, JMS, JNDI and JavaBeans

Four new integration tools help you investigate and debug services and other integration components. Each displays as a pop-up window.

From the Connect MQ and MQ Listener forms, click the magnifying glass button to access the contents of the request or response queue:

You can drill down from the queue display to see details of individual messages.

MQ messages

Similar queue inspection is available from the Connect JMS form and JMS Listener form.

From the JDNI Server form, you can see the JNDI values presented in a tree structure.

From the Tools menu, you can view the structure and contents of a JavaBean:
