HCLTech ADvantage Pega UI Kit to Theme Cosmos (U2C)

The HCLTech ADvantageTM Pega UI Kit to Theme Cosmos (U2C) upgrades applications that are built on legacy UI to Pega Cosmos.

This tool avoids having to perform the below tasks manually:

• Impact analysis
• Identification of rule conflicts to withdraw
• Identification of non-template rules to upgrade
• Identification of customized sections
• Save as impacted rules
• Update relevant access groups to point to the new application and portal
• Any issues with upgrade require all upgraded rules to be deleted

This manual migration process leaves a lot of room for error, with the possibility that impacted rules for upgrade may be missed.

With a medium-complexity application, once a developer has identified the impacted rules, they have to spend an average of 45 minutes per 10 rules to review and save them to the higher version.

This tool automates all of the above tasks by capturing required inputs from the developer through a simple GUI-based wizard that takes less time to navigate through. Before this wizard starts migration, it previews the impacted rules list to upgrade. After the migration is completed, you can see the new application, skin portal, and upgraded/withdrawn rules on the screen, with the option to undo if desired.

• Options to choose application, access groups, rule sets, skin for the migration
• All rules created will be saved in the new branch, which will be created dynamically and deleted after the migration is completed
• Identify the list of rules that were overridden previously from the UI Kit. The same rules are also present in the current application rule sets. These rules will be withdrawn in a branch.
• Efficient to ignore sections containing repeat grid
• Repeating dynamic layout and repeat grid sections will not be upgraded
• Upgrades non-template sections with design templates (currently it supports one column template)
• Identifies the customized sections and skips them in the migration process
• Creates a new skin by inheriting the Cosmos skin. If the user wants to use the existing skin, this tool retains the previous custom styles.
• Provides an option to undo the migration if required
• Displays all impacted rules after migration. Tool can be extended to generate impacted rules list via Excel or PDF.
