About FTP Server data instances

Use the Environment tab to configure information that Process Commander uses to find and log into an external FTP server.

Field

Description

Server Details  
Host Name

Enter a Domain Name Server (DNS) name for the FTP server, for example, ftp.myserver.com. Alternatively, identify an IP address.

This field supports the Global Resource Settings syntax (=.PageName.PropertyName). The default property name for this field is pyHostName. For more information, see Using the Global Resource Settings feature.

Port Number

Identify a TCP/IP port for this FTP server, typically port 21. SSH FTP is not supported.

This field supports the Global Resource Settings syntax (=.PageName.PropertyName). The default property name for this field is pyPortNumber.

User ID

Optional. Enter the user ID, if required, of the account that Process Commander uses to connect to the FTP server. This field also supports the Global Resource Settings syntax (=.PageName.PropertyName). The default property name for this field is pyUserID.

Password

Optional. If required, enter the password of the user account specified in the User ID field. This field also supports the Global Resource Settings syntax (=.PageName.PropertyName). The default property name for this field is pyPassword.

 Test Connectivity  

After you have completed this tab and saved the FTP Server data instance, click to confirm that Process Commander can connect to the server using the information on this tab.

The system presents test results in a separate window, identifying the parameters used in the test, the steps attempted, and the outcome of each step.
