Process Commander compacts the JavaScript source code sent from the server to the user's browser. While still producing correct results, the JavaScript code visible in the browser is difficult for users to understand, as comments and extra spaces are removed, and some JavaScript elements are scrambled.

Compactification has three benefits:

• Reduced network traffic, as HTTP responses from Process Commander to the user's workstation are shorter.
• Smaller memory demands on the user workstation
• A modest security gain, as the JavaScript source code in the browser is obscured (not encrypted).

However, compactification can make debugging of work object forms that use JavaScript more difficult, as client-side. If you are developing such work object form:

1. Select Edit > Preferences.
2. Access the General preferences group
3. Select the Disable Compacting option in the JavaScript box.

When not disabled, JavaScript compatification occurs for those text file rules for which the final key part is and the Compatification check box is selected.
