You can install and use Sun Microsystems' Java Secure Sockets Extension (JSEE) software, a free download, to implement Secure Socket Layer (SSL) communications for your Process Commander server. Your organization must have or acquire a certificate. Secure, encrypted HTTPS operation is available when your system is based on the Apache Tomcat or the IBM WebSphere Application Server.
Use of HTTPS may block certain download operations from the server to workstations. For details and suggestions, see Pega Developer Network article PRKB-17997 Troubleshooting: "Internet Explorer cannot download" messages (Tomcat with SSL).
SSL can be used by e-mail listeners.
