Back Forward Process Engine API

Process Commander includes standard activities that you can call to start and advance flows without using work object forms. They are known as the Process Engine API activities, and can support use of Process Commander business processing through Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) facilities including agents and service activities.

NoteDon't confuse the Process Engine API with the Engine API, a collection of documented Java interfaces also known as the Public API.

Business process management applications can use an external portal or external system and call Process Commander services that in turn call Process Engine API activities to create work objects, advance the work objects through a flow, perform assignments, and so on.

To view a report of the standard activities in the Process Engine API, select Help > APIs > Process from the Developer portal menus, or equivalently:

  1. Click the Pega logo in the upper left corner of the portal to return to the home page.
  2. Click the Integrationicon to access the Integration slice
  3. Click the Process Engine API link in the Resources area
