Traditional portals are the two standard portals for application users named WorkUser or WorkManager, introduced in V5.1, or custom portals based on those two portals.

Traditional portals have a fixed layout and are built from HTML rules with Data-Gadget as the Applies To key part.

The term traditional is used to contrast these portals with composite portals, introduced in V5.5. Composite portals are built from section rules and harness rules.
