Use field value rules to define items in a selection list presented to users or a set of values for the Table Edit feature of the Property form, and to support localization by overriding an English word or phrase with an equivalent term in another language.
Many field value rules restrict values of a property to one of a fixed list of choices, but the list of choices — recorded as rules rather than in code or data — may evolve with different versions of an application.
Other field value rules support localization of words, phrases, and sentences that appear on portal displays, reports, and work object forms.
Use the Application Explorer to access field rules that apply to the work types in your application. Use the Rules by Type Explorer to list all field rules available to you.
Field value rules are part of the Property category. A field value rule is an instance of the Rule-Obj-FieldValue rule type.
Field value rules are normally stored in the PegaRULES
database as rows of the pr4_rule_fieldvalue
table.
