A version rule has two key parts:

Enter a three-part version identifier, such as 01-01-01.

To avoid circularity, rule resolution does not apply to version rules. The RuleSet version 01-17-04 of RuleSet Alpha is among the rules contained in Alpha:01-17-04.
Select the RuleSet for which you're
creating this version. 
You rarely need to create a major version
other than 01 (in the form NN-01-01) using the New
function and the rule form. Instead, use the 
Each user or other requestor can access
rules in only one major version of a RuleSet.
Access to version 04-10-15 includes access to 04-10-14
and 04-04-11, but not to 03-01-01.
