Use Word template rules to incorporate Microsoft Word® documents (DOC file types) into your application, for use during correspondence generation and inline Word editing. The DOC files can incorporate Word 2002/2003 features such as images, styles, macros, and formulas. (Word 2007 is supported only in 2003 compatibility mode.)
Two unrelated Process Commander capabilities use Word template rules:

. The DOC file supports Microsoft Word on the
workstation while users edit or compose the correspondence
item. The resulting Word document (of DOC file type) becomes
a file attachment of a specific category and can also be sent
out as an attachment to an e-mail message. (You can print
such documents locally, but they cannot be processed by the
Correspondence Output Server.)Single
Value
property has as its value a Word document.
Through a clipboard merge operation, Microsoft Word fields in
the DOC file can be replaced by property values,
correspondence, and images.Use the Rules by Type Explorer to list all Word template rules available to you.
Word template rules belong to the SysAdmin category. A Word template rule is an instance of the Rule-Template-Word rule type.
