To edit instances of a Data Table using Microsoft
Excel
- Confirm that you have the appropriate access to add,
delete, and update instances of the class.
- For the WorkManager portal, click the
Data Tables link in the Accelerators
and Wizards area of the Dashboard workspace. The
system lists classes to which you have editing access.
- For the Developer portal, select View
> Data Tables. The system lists classes to which you
have editing access.
- Identify one class to edit.
- Click Edit in Excel .
- Process Commander sends the Data Table to your
workstation as an Excel 2003 spreadsheet, with macros. If a
security alert appears, select Enable
Macros.
- In Excel, each row corresponds to a data table entry. Use
the Add, Update, Refresh, and
Delete buttons to convey your
changes to Process Commander server. Do not use the Save or
Save As facilities. (When using Excel 2007 in 2003
compatibility mode, click the Excel Add-Ins tab to access the control buttons.)
Notes
If the or
links do not appear, you lack appropriate security for these
functions for that class. Ask your system architect to review
or update the Modify Instances setting for the
Access of Role to Object rule that controls access to the class
you need to edit.
Editing in Excel is limited to data tables with no more than 32,767 rows. This is an Excel limitation.
