An atomic use case is a smaller, more granular version of a traditional UML use case. In Process Commander applications, an atomic use case is associated with a single process step (or sometimes a series of steps in a screen flow). An atomic use case:

• has a single actor
• is triggered by a single type of event
• does not change ownership as during processing
• provides detailed information to developers
